You know maybe the story of the lost civilisation of Atlantis? Yes, but what would you say if the stary is thrue? Because it is. The scientists proved that 160km deep from the coasts of the Black see there were a civilisation, dated from almost 8000 years.Then the Black see was a smal inner continental sea. The legend is thrue to the end - Atlantis was flooted very quickly, just for a moment. Actually the earth was realy fast going down and the water of the sea flooted all the sunk territories. And the story ends.
What is happening now? The level of the World ocean is growing up with average 30cm at every 10 years and the low regions at the coasts are realy in danger of some sort of the Atlantis' end. That is caused of the Global warming, which is getting huge dimensions in the last years. From the beginning of the 20-th sentury the global temperature is growed up with 0,6 C degree, that value for Europe is 1,5 C degree. To the end of the 21-th sentury it is expected raising from 6 C degree in Europe. This coases the melting of the polar ices and the raising of the level of the World ocean. In the same time the south coasts of Europe are sinking. We may made some paralels with the story of Atlantis - the story will end like that of Atlanitis - allmost - slower and this time we will cause the calamities.
